As a collector, I often found myself travelling to locations to pick up collectable items – sometimes it would be 30mins other times 3 hours away and even interstate when we were on holidays. In returning home, I would share the adventure details with fellow-collectors, and I was often met with the response of ‘Oh, why didn’t you go here or there’ referring to vintage toy stores and events that were close by. While there are services that I used, such as search engines or social media to plan out trips, there was no single site that focused on collectable shops and events therefore I would often miss some or go to ones that weren’t in my niche of collecting. I spoke to a few collectors and shop owners and realised, I must not be the only one facing this issue – and Collector Directory was born.
The Collector Directory’s core focus is on providing a platform for:
- Collectors to find shops, events, groups and services based through a variety of search features – including location
- Shop owners, event organisers and service providers to showcase who they are and what they do
Within the Collector Directory, you are also able to create an account to heart your favourite shops, events and services; log-in to your personal dashboard to access your favourites list; plus, you can provide reviews to share with the rest of the community your experience.
